To make the login process easier, we added Biometric login to the ARCOS Mobile+ app in June of 2022.
At that time, Biometric login was turned off for all accounts by default and customers needed to enable
Biometric login for their account.
Because of its popularity amongst field workers for easy login to the app, today we announce that we
will automatically enable Biometric login on the ARCOS Mobile+ app for all accounts on May 4, 2023.
Note: The legacy Mobile app does not support biometric login, this change applies to the Mobile+ app
only.
What This Means
Once the Biometric login setting is enabled on your account, your teams will have the option to enable
Biometric login on Mobile+ on their device. Turning on the Biometric login setting at the account level
does NOT automatically turn on Biometric login on a device; each user will still need to enable Biometric
login in both their device settings as well as the Mobile+ app settings.
How to Enable Biometric on a Device
iOS Devices
Note that Face ID or Touch ID login may not be supported depending on the device model.
To enable Biometrics, please navigate to Settings and then either Face ID & Password or Touch ID &
Passcode.
Android Devices
Note that the setup for Android devices may be slightly different depending on the manufacturer and
model.
Biometric login settings are typically found under Settings > Security. From here you should see options
to configure Fingerprint/Imprint and/or Face Recognition login.
Enable On the Mobile+ App
Once Biometric login has been enabled at the device level, it can now be enabled in the ARCOS Mobile+
app.
Go to My Account > Security > Enable Biometric Login. Once enabled, users will see a fingerprint icon on
the login screen they can tap to login via Biometrics.
In the coming weeks, once Biometric login is enabled in the device settings, users will see a non-blocking
notification in the Mobile+ app asking them if they want to enable Biometric login for the Mobile+ app.
Note: Users will see this message only once, it will not prevent them from performing any other actions
such as responding to a Callout, and they can easily dismiss it.
Opting Out
If you do NOT want us to enable the Biometric login setting for your account, please reach out to
support no later than Friday, March 24, 2023.
If you later decide you don't want your people using Biometric login, you can always disable it for your
account.
Go to Sys Admin > User Login Settings > Enable Biometric Login for Mobile Devices? and make sure the
box is unchecked
