RosterApps has a feature that can make the whole bidding process much easier for you. This is especially true for those employee users who belong to work groups that have many dozens of fellow employees. Default bid preferences let you see all the bid lines of any given bid package in the order that you would prefer, based off of preferences you input. If you want shifts that start from 8am to 10am or only bid lines that have Saturday and Sunday off, or those that require a certain skill, default bid preferences can help you. Let's take a look at how to set up your Default Bid Preferences.
You can set your default bid preferences whether or not there is a bid currently underway.
Once you arrive on your Bidding Page, you will see a blue text link marked "Manage Default Bid Preferences", clicking opens a page listing your Default Bid Preference Sets.
In the event that you have a great many bid line preference sets listed, you can click the checkbox to hide the past preference sets. (Incidentally, you may want to un-click this box to retrieve a previously used set. The checkbox is right up at the top of the page, as seen in the above image.
In order to input our initial set of preferences, you will need to click on the link marked "Create New Bid Preference Set".
RosterApps will bring up an input box asking you for a couple of key pieces of information. The first is the name of the bid preference set, and is entered here.
Next you will need to enter a date for it to become effective, and then click on the 'Done' button. You can select any day from today forward. You can only have one active Default Bid Preference Set at a time, but you can have more than one saved, or more than one set to be active at a future effective date.
Double-check your entries, and then click on the 'Create' button to create a Default Bid Line Preference Set.
The next page goes over the details of how to enter your individual preferences. If you set these up correctly, you can see the bid lines of your next bid package listed in just the order you want.
