Bid Preferences Page

The Bid Preferences Page is where you will enter your preferences for which shift schedules you would like more than others. There are several different parts of the page with which you should be familiar.

RosterApps will displaying which Bid Package you are entering your preferences for, as well as which Work Group the bid is for, and the effective date range of the bid. In this case, you can see that we are working on the Bid Package named "Gate Test 2", the bid is for the Gate-FT Work Group, and the calendar range of the bid is for the period between August 1st and September 4th.

Note: If you believe that the Work Group listed is not your designated Work Group, please see your Supervisor or Administrator.

The next line of information is broken up into 4 options. First is a checkbox to switch back and forth between having a scroll window inside of the one your browser window has by default. If you have a lot of bid lines to look through you may want to turn this on or off depending upon your viewing preference.

The next portion, just to the right of that, is where RosterApps is letting you know how many bid lines you need to select before you are finished. Since, typically, everyone is bidding at once, you need to select as many bid lines as your seniority level requires.

Some companies have a lot of employees in a given Work Group. During the Bidding Process, if you are selecting your preferences later in the bid, you may have dozens of bid lines that you will need to select, before you are finished with the Bidding Process. You will need to select as many lines as RosterApps instructs you to, in order to complete your bidding process. (RosterApps will not allow you to save your preferences, **unless and until** you have chosen the minimum number of lines for your seniority level.)

Next, you have a drop-down menu for how you can sort the list of Bid Lines.

This drop-down list will enable you to sort your list of Bid Lines by one of the following orders:

• Line Number - The straight-ordered bid lines as they were created in the bid package.

• Total Hours - This sort will show you Bid Lines from the greatest Total Hours to the least Total Hours.

• Skills, Start Time, Start Day - This sort will show you Bid Lines sorted first by Skill required, then by Start Time, then by Start Day.

• Start Time, Start Day - This sort will show you Bid Lines first by Start Time, then by Start Day.

• Start Day, Start Time - This sort will show you Bid Lines first by Start Day, then by Start Time.

• My Default Preferences - This sort will show you Bid Lines according to your active default bid line preference set. Click here for more information about this feature.

The last interface option you have before we get to the Bid Lines themselves is a checkbox for listing your preferences first.

Selecting this option puts all of the bidlines that you have listed as preferred appear at the top of the list. As you work through the list, making your choices, they will appear at the top of the list so that you can continue to work your way down, until you are finished with the list, and/or have selected enough lines for RosterApps to be able to award you a Bid Line when the Bidding is finished.
