This is a feature that is not used by all companies. Most ARCOS customers use the ARCOS Schedule as the central repository for employee schedule information and keep employee schedule data up-to-date. However, ARCOS users may still need to print and post the ARCOS schedule and, as soon as that happens, there is the possibility that the printed information becomes outdated and is no longer accurate. The Alerts for Stale Schedule Data function allows you to request a pop-up from ARCOS whenever schedule information of interest changes.
The Alert button, which activates the feature, is located in the Tools section of the Schedule page and is available on both Week and Day views. When this feature is enabled, ARCOS checks schedule records for all employees in the current location or locations that are part of the selected group you establish and notifies you when one of their schedule record changes. Changes that invoke the Alerts pop-up include any change to the current day’s schedule record, or any schedule record change that affects 1 hour prior to the time the Alert was established and 24 hours after the time the Alert was established. The timer on the Alerts is reset whenever a pop-up occurs and you acknowledge it and also when you logout of ARCOS. The employees you choose to be part of the Alerts, however, remain as part of the Alert group until you deselect the Alert by clicking the Alert button again to turn it off. Once you activate the feature, you can navigate away from the Schedule page and ARCOS will still notify you when changes occur.
To Activate the Alerts for Stale Schedule Data
-
Go to the 14-Day, the 7-Day, or the 1-Day Schedule view. The selected view displays.
-
Click the Select checkbox to choose the employees for which you wish to monitor the schedules.
-
Click the Alert button, located on the Tools bar at the top of the Schedule page. ARCOS displays a confirmation message, telling you how many employees you selected for the Alert monitoring. This action also starts the Alerts timer.
Note: Alerts monitor any changes to the selected employee’s schedules within 1 hour prior to the time the Alert was set and 24 hours after the Alert time was set.
Note: Pop-ups do not display for changes that you make to schedule records but do display for changes that other users make to schedule records you are monitoring.
