RosterApps allows you to request Unpaid Time Off (UTO). The rules surrounding how and when you can make these requests are set by your company for your station. Some companies allow Supervisor-level managers to override the rules in certain instances.
Here are some reasons that you might not be able to request UTO using RosterApps, and some reasons you might be getting an error when you do:
1.) If you don't see the "Request as UTO" as one of your options when you click on a given shift in Your Calendar, you don't have the ability of making a UTO request.
2.) If you are a new hire, you may be disallowed from making UTO requests until the end of your probationary period. (This will depend upon the company you work for and their policies.) Once you are passed this introductory period, you will likely be given full access to make UTO requests.
3.) You might be trying to make a UTO request outside of the window of opportunity. Most companies utilize a window of time when you can legitimately make UTO requests. Typically, these are between a few weeks to a couple of days before the start of the shift in question. This means that you can't make a request more than X number of days out (from the start of the shift), and your request cannot be closer than Y days to the date you want off.
4.) You may have had too many occurrences of UTO in a given time period. This is also a setting made by your company. The number of occurrences or the time period are up to your company to establish.
There is a setting for companies in RosterApps to enable Supervisors to override some settings for a UTO request. If your request cannot be processed because of your company's rules in RosterApps, you can speak with your Supervisor about it, and they may be able to help you.
