Sometimes a user may not be able to Trade a shift, or post one to the trade board. Either the option is not available to them, or doing something with one of their shifts causes an error message to display.
If you are attempting to trade a shift to a co-worker, and you cannot, there may be a few different reasons for this:
1.) You may be too new of a hire.
Some companies have a probation period for new employees. Your Supervisor or Location Administrator will be able to tell you if your company has such a policy, and how long it's duration is. If you are such an employee, you may under a No Swap new hire rule. Most often, this setting will change on a pre-determined day to a normal Rule Set, but if you feel that your new hire time period should be over, please contact your Supervisor or Location Administrator, and they should be able to help you.
2.) You may be under a swap suspension.
Sometimes workers can be placed under a swap suspension by their managers for various reasons. If you are under a No Swap suspension, you will not be able to swap shifts with co-workers, give a shift to a co-worker, or to claim a shift from the trade board.
3.) Your co-worker may have conflicts or other issues.
If you are trying to exchange shifts with one of your Co-workers, that person might have conflicts or circumstances preventing the trade, even though everything looks green-lighted for you.
