You may want to make a request to utilize PTO (Paid Time Off) for one or more of your Shifts. RosterApps enables you to do this, and the easiest way is to utilize the calendar.
From the 'My Calendar' tab Navigate to and click on the Shift you want to Request as PTO. A small menu of possible actions that you can take with a Shift will appear. Select the one that says "Request as PTO".
You will then be taken to a follow-up page, where you will need to enter a little more information.
You must select a PTO category, though the PTO types may be different than what you see here. The drop-down menu should contain all of the available PTO types, as shown below.
Your company may have restrictions upon when and how you may request PTO. For example, you may need to have a positive balance (including the PTO request being processed) in order to make a PTO request. You may be restricted to making a PTO request either too close or too far away from the date and time of the Shift for which you are requesting PTO.
Next, you may want to include a text comment with your request. A Supervisor who will be responsible for approving or denying the request will see this message when they go to process your request.
click the 'Request PTO' button to confirm the request.
You can also abort the current request by clicking on 'Cancel'. Once you click on the 'Request PTO' button, RosterApps will register the Request and it will appear on your Supervisor's Home Page. If there is an error or problem with your request, RosterApps will give you a message to that effect. For example, here is an error message from RosterApps stating that "you don't have enough hours to cover this request." This message means that the account from which I want to cover my PTO time, does not have enough hours in it to be able to cover the total hours of the request.
