In order to Split a Shift, you need to be on your My Calendar page from the top navigation.
Some companies that use RosterApps allow you to Split one of your current Shifts into one or more pieces. This can be handy for situations where you may need to arrive late or depart early from a Shift in order to go to an appointment. Your company may or may not allow you to Split Shifts, and if they do, there may be certain restrictions on how long the resulting Shift segments may be, how may times a given Shift can be Split, etc.
Once on the "My Calendar Page", navigate to the Shift in question, and click on it and a menu appears with actions you can take with the shift.
Select the option "Split Shift". This will take you to another screen where you will determine where you want the Shift Split to occur.
Use the drop-down menus to select the time you want the split to occur and click the Split Shift button to complete the split. You will then be shown Your Calendar Page again, displaying the newly-split shift. You will see a new line horizontally across the shift, denoting the split. Also, on either side (top or bottom) of the split, you will see different information when you mouse-over each one. See Figure 002056:
At this point you can treat the Split Shift as any other Shift, and give it to a co-worker, post it to the trade board, exchange it for another co-worker's shift, etc.
Cancel the Split
If you want to cancel the split after you have created it, simply left click on either part of the split shift and select the "Undo Split" option.
Note: You must be in control of both parts of a Shift that has been split, in order to re-join them back together.
There will come a follow-up page asking you to confirm the undoing of the Split. RosterApps will give you the details, and then ask you to confirm by clicking the Undo Split button.
