Answering Machine Intercept is the amount of time an employee has to respond to a callout via outbound before ARCOS begins calling the next employee and is generally set to 40 or 45 seconds. It is also configurable per callout type and can be used to decrease the time it takes to fill emergency situation callouts, because ARCOS is not playing through the answering machine message twice which could take over 2 minutes.
Example: Answering Machine Intercept is set to 45 seconds for company. John is called and his answering machine picks up the call. 45 seconds after ARCOS has been playing the message ARCOS will call the next employee on the list. If John picks up the phone and presses 1 to respond to the callout after the 45 seconds, he will be told “The system is currently calling another employee. To respond to this callout, please call the (Company) Callout System at 866-XXX-XXXX.” John can then call inbound and respond to the callout if there are still open positions.
John’s result for the outbound call would be “Answering Machine Intercept”. Click here to view an example Callout Detail Report.
