RosterApps enables you to create new Availability Patterns whenever you would like. If you have your standard pattern currently (just for an example), but you have a new night class which you are taking for 8 weeks, you can put a modified Availability Pattern into RosterApps for your Supervisor to approve. After that 8 weeks (or at any time you like), you can move back to the original pattern (or create a new one) by making a copy of it for a new time frame.
Availability patterns are used when your Location Administrator is creating a new work schedule. F or example, if you put down in your Availability Pattern that you would prefer to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when your Location Admin is making up the schedule, they will assign people to shifts and will be able to see that you would prefer Tuesdays and Thursdays. Having an availability pattern is not a guarantee of being scheduled for the time you have indicated, but RosterApps makes it easy for your manager to see your preferences when they are assigning shifts on a schedule.
From the Availability Page, click on the text link "Create New Pattern".
The next page will allow you to put in some further details about your Availability Pattern, and your preferred minimum and maximum hours per week.
First put in an Effective Start Date for your pattern. This is when your pattern goes into effect and is available for consideration by the manager who makes the schedule. You are familiar already with the date selector in RosterApps. The one on this page works the same as the others.
Next, put in your preferred minimum hours per week, and then your preferred maximum hours per week.
Once again, these numbers you enter will not guarantee that you will get more than your minimum preferred hours, nor less than your maximum preferred hours. These numbers (and the availability pattern itself) are just a guideline for the Administrator making your schedule. However, having this information available to the person making the schedule, when they are making it, will only help you get more of what you wanted.
When you have entered the preliminary information as shown above, click on the button marked "Create" and your new pattern in included.
The following screen enables you to mark down spans of time that you would prefer to be scheduled for work.
