Creating a Room Type

Room types are used in ARCOS to describe the type of a room a hotel has. For example, a hotel may have single non-smoking rooms and single smoking rooms. These would be two different room types within ARCOS.

To create a new room type

1. Navigate to the Lodging Mode.

2. Click the Add Room Type button in the Panels toolbar. The Create Room Type pop-up displays.

   

   

3. Type the name of the room type in the Name textbox.

4. Type the number of people who can stay in the room in the Capacity textbox.

5. Type the abbreviation of the room type in the Abbreviation textbox.

6. Click the plus sign (+) in the bottom right hand corner of the pop-up to save the new room type. ARCOS displays a confirmation pop-up once the save has completed.

7. Click the OK button on the confirmation pop-up.

Note: Existing room types can be viewed, by clicking the Room Type Panel button in the Panels toolbar. Attributes can also be assigned to room types from the Room Type Panel.
