The VacMgtRequest alert assists with the management of backfill or requested - exceptions within Vacation Management. If a vacation limit group (VLG) is at or over its limit, an attempt to add a vacation record to another employee from the same VLG would be denied but a "request" exception could be created for the employee. Once a request is created, the request can be converted to an actual vacation record if another employee's vacation is canceled. While the "request" position is in affect for the employee, they are considered available for callouts and normal charging logic is applied to any callouts they are called on. (ARCOS sees the employee as available and ignores the "request" exception.)
When a vacation management exception is canceled (or deleted) and there is a pending request for the same VLG, ARCOS sends an e-mail alert to the contacts subscribed to the VacMgtRequest alert. If there are no pending requests for a VLG when a vacation management exception is canceled (or deleted), ARCOS will not send and alert. Below, is an example of the VacMgt alert:
