Perspective Notes

Perspective Notes allow comments and ad-hoc information to be displayed for a single user, or for a user community using the Crew Manager Perspective feature. Notes may be weather reports during a major storm event, information on incoming crews from mutual assistance prior to receiving rosters, or may be other information that does not otherwise fit in a Crew Manager attribute.   

Additionally, Perspective Notes allow for roll-up calculations for an entire Crew Manager perspective.  For example, if your current perspective is counting the number of crews for each group, and your perspective is grouped by area; you may have 25 different areas that you would like to total. Perspective Notes provide that capability.

Perspective Notes are located in the upper left corner of the Crew Panel in Crew Manager.

The Group Summary section will automatically display summary information for any group-level badges that are summing or counting something. As you can see in this example, the "Central Region" has 4 crews and 9 members in it, but the higher level Group Summary shows that all regions displayed have a total of 345 crews and 121 members. The Group Summary section is useful for summarizing data that in the past, you may have had to scroll down to find, or export into Excel and summarize.

To view Perspective Notes

1. Press the Perspective Notes button. The high level Group Summary and Notes section displays.

 

To use the Notes section

If you press the plus sign on the row that says “Notes” you will be given a new dialog box.

You can now give your note a label. The label functions like a title of the note. For example if you would like to put a weather report on a perspective, use a title called “Weather” or something similar and press the plus sign to add.

Note: Multiple notes can be displayed and will be stacked. Each note will only take up one line, so you may want to be concise with your notes.

What if I want to see different Notes, or different Group Summary information?

The Group Summary section and notes are specific to the loaded perspective they are saved with.   If you have a standard regional Crew Manager - Perspective, then that perspective can be stored with a certain set of notes and will display Group Summary data for that perspective based on the information in the groups.
