Convoys to Crews provides the ability to continue using the map-based location functionality of tracking a large convoy in sMART and split into smaller crews and deploy to work assignments in Crew Manager. This is accomplished by leveraging data from sMART as resources and attributes in Crew Manager. Assigning a crew members’ sMART login to a crew completes the association of a user to a crew.
Crew Manager Resource Type
To create the association between the two modules, a new Resource Type has been added within Crew Manager, ActiveLogin, with the following attributes:
• Company - The Company the employee is associated with.
• Description- Description of the convoy.
• Destination- Destination of the convoy.
• Event - The sMART Code assigned to the Event.
• Fuel - Convoy fuel type.
• FullName - Employee name.
• Login - Employee login.
• NumPeople - Amount of crew members in the convoy.
• NumVehicles - Amount of vehicles in the convoy.
Note: While editing the Crew attribute ActiveLoginAssign users are given the option to Shared and/or Multi-Assign. While more than one Crew can “Share” the same Active Login, a Crew can only have a single Active Login assigned to them at a time. For this reason, the Multi-Assign checkbox is not selectable for ActiveLoginAssign.
Users will receive a warning if the Multi-Assign checkbox is selected.
Once an active login Resource Type is assigned to a crew, through an API endpoint, the Crew Name is sent to the sMART module and is displayed in the Crew Name column of the Active Crews Report allowing users to view other relevant information such as Company, Destination, Distance Traveled, etc.
Crew Names will remain in archived reports, however once a code has been deleted or disassociated from a crew member, the Crew Name will no longer appear in the report.
