If an employee is not to be called by ARCOS due to illness, vacation, jury duty or any other excused or unexcused reason, the employee should be placed on Schedule Exception. During a callout, ARCOS does not call employees who are on Schedule Exception. The only exceptions to this process are if the dispatcher chooses to override a specific Schedule Exception or if the callout type is configured to automatically ignore certain employee statuses.
A schedule exception called Note is used by some companies. The Note schedule exception places a note on the employee's schedule record for the defined period of time. The exception does not interfere with any working exception, is completely ignored by ARCOS when considering availability, and does not auto-extend. The exception is used only for informational purposes on the Scheduler Day Views and is not shown anywhere else in ARCOS except for an employee's log trace. The Note exception displays in pink on the scheduler .
Note: Most companies allow employees to use the Inbound VRU to place themselves on or remove themselves from most, if not all schedule exceptions. Some companies prefer employees contact their supervisor before putting themselves on schedule exception.
