This feature, found in the Sys Admin module, is not used by all companies within ARCOS. A crew is a made up of two or more primary classifications connected for the purpose of a callout.
An example of a crew would be 3-Man Electrical Crew with Backup that would be comprised of 2 journeyman lineman splicers and 1 lead lineman splicer. If you created a crew similar to the one in the above example and when you have a callout, you request a 3-Man Electrical Crew with Backup, ARCOS knows to get 2 journeyman lineman and 1 lead lineman splicer to satisfy that request. Crews can also be used to ensure the proper ratio of journeyman to apprentices on a callout, providing that the journeymen and apprentices are in separate roster lists.
The Crew Definition Admin page contains a list of all crews currently established for the selected Level 4 location, the quantity of each configured class required for the crew, and the name of each configured class used in the crew. The Crew Name field contains a link that takes you to the Crew setup screen for that crew. It contains a list of all configured classes in the current Level 4 and a field where you can enter the number of employees from each class that you want to be part of the crew.
When you request a crew during a callout, a set number of employees from different rosters is defined. The number of crews requested is multiplied by the number of employees from each roster making up the crew that are required.
