We received the below information from our QA team that we wanted to bring to your attention.
Please do not test with any employee in your QA or PROD environments that contains "auto" in their profile name. These employee users are reserved for the Arcos’ Automation Testing Team.
- Any adjustments to any settings, shifts, skills, etc. can break the related automation scripts.
- The automation employees are typically located beneath ZZZ Arcos locations or other similar ZZZ locations, but they may be listed in other locations as well based on the specific script.
- Note that it doesn't matter if the automation employee is active or inactive. Scripts may adjust their automation employee status, so if it is not in the correct status at the time the script runs, it can break.
We understand that unintended use can occur, and that in hurried testing activity, alphanumerically these names may be listed at the top of most lists and drop downs. It is easy to just grab the first available employee to use in recreating a reported issue. However, the impacts can be significant. When scripts fail, the Automation Team must figure out why, which isn't always readily apparent, and it can take a good deal of time to research and reset to the required automation script settings.
