Shift leveling bids are designed to help move employees from overstaffed time periods to understaffed ones. This is a good method to use if you need to fill a number of open shifts for a certain time period. In order to create a shift leveling bid, your Location Admin will need to have set up a minimum staffing plan that covers the time period and shift skills in question.
In a shift leveling bid, you select bid items (open/unassigned shifts) and bid participants (employees that have skills and permissions to work those shifts). Employees then bid on open shifts that they want to work, and RosterApps awards open shifts based on the seniority method that you choose. This is different than bidding for bid packages because employees do not have to participate in a shift leveling bid, and not every employee that bids will receive an award—if none of their available preferences fit with the minimum staffing plan, the employee will not be awarded a shift.
Note: In order to use shift leveling, your company administrator has to enable it for your specific location. Please contact them if you don't see the Shift Leveling tab while in the Supervisor role.
