This functionality allows the location admin to mark an employee absent for an extended period of time. Typically, the Supervisor is responsible for marking an employee absent when they will not be working or have missed a scheduled shift. But if an employee is going to be out for a longer period of time, the location administrator has the option to use this function within RosterApps.
Some example uses of this would be for employees who are on jury duty or FMLA.
To mark an employee absent for a period of time:
-
Click the Employees tab.
-
Find the employee you want to mark absent in the table of employees. Click the blue text link Edit in that employee’s row of the table.
-
Click the blue text link Mark Employee Absent for Period of Time
- RosterApps direct you to the Mark Employee Absent for Period of Time screen:
- Select a Start and End Date for the absence. Note that all shifts on the employee's calendar between the two dates will be marked absent.
- From the dropdown, select a reason for the absence.
- Next, select whether or not you want to cover the absent shifts with overtime.
- Add a comment if you wish to be included with the absent reason
- To include the comment in the email to the employee or have it displayed on their calendar, select the corresponding checkboxes.
- Once you finish, click the blue Mark Absent button to complete the action and return to the Edit Employee Record page, or click the Cancel button to cancel this action.
