Use this function to add or remove a skill to or from an employee. In RosterApps, employees can only pick up shifts for which they have the requisite skill(s).
To edit an employee's skills:
- Click the Employees tab.
- Find the employee whose skills you want to edit in the table of employees. Click the blue text link Edit in that employee’s row of the table.
- Click the blue text link Edit Skills.

RosterApps directs you to the Edit Skills page. The selector box on this page lists all of the skills available at your location. The skills with check marks in their boxes are skills that the employee currently has. The Company Admin determines the list of available skills, so if you do not see a skill that you believe should be in the list, consult your Company Admin.
- To update the effective date of the skill(s), select a date from the calendar picker. Note that all skills will have the same effective date. It is not currently possible within RosterApps to have different effective dates by skill.

To remove a skill from an employee, un-check the box for that skill.

To add a skill, check the box for that skill.

To add all of the available skills in the list to the employee, click the blue text link All directly above the list of skills.

To remove all skills from the employee, click the blue text link None directly above the list of skills.
- Once you finish, click the blue Update button to save your changes and return to the Edit Employee Record page, or click the Cancel button to cancel your edits.
