RosterApps keeps track of the number of hours from open shifts assigned directly to an employee by a supervisor, or overtime/open shifts that the employee picks up from the Trade Board or Open Shift Bid Board, that put them beyond a 40-hour work week, and adds those hours to the employee’s overtime bank. This is for the purpose of enabling management to more equitably distribute open shifts amongst employees, and is not a means of tracking hours of overtime for payroll purposes.
Some organizations use the Overtime Bank to determine who should get an open/overtime shift. A supervisor can use overtime bank information with the Assign Shift page or Open Shift Bid Board for a more equitable distribution of open/overtime shifts.
The top of the page displays the employee's current overtime balance in hours.
The Overtime Bank Activity Table shows any overtime shifts the employee has claimed or been assigned. The table displays the date of the shift(s), length (in hours) of shift(s), who assigned/posted the shift(s), and any comments regarding the shift(s). Any adjustments that you make to the overtime bank will also show up in this table.
