Allow scheduled shift to be requested as unpaid time off: Check this box to allow for UTO to be requested on scheduled shifts. When this option is checked, the following settings are also available:
Employee Can Request UTO: Check this box to allow employees to request unpaid time off (UTO).
Min Hours Before Shift Start UTO Request: The minimum number of hours before a shift begins that an employee can request UTO on that shift. For example, if you enter 2.00 in this field, employees can only request UTO on a shift if it is at least two hours before the shift begins. If the shift begins in one hour, they could not request UTO on it.
Min Hours Before Shift End UTO Request: The minimum number of hours before a shift ends that an employee can request UTO on that shift. For example, if you enter 12.00 in this field, employees can only request UTO on a shift if it is at least twelve hours before the shift ends. If the shift end in eleven hours, they could not request UTO on it.
Max Hours Before UTO Request: The maximum number of hours before a shift begins that an employee can request UTO on that shift. For example, if you enter 48.00 in this field, employees can only request UTO on shifts that begin in the next 48 hours. If it is 50 hours before a shift begins, an employee could not request UTO on that shift.
Max Occurrences in Window (0 = ignore rule): The maximum number of times employees can request UTO in a certain time window, which you will specify in the next rule.
Window for Occurrences (days): The time window (in days) that relates to the previous rule. For example, if you entered 1 in the previous rule and enter 7.00 in this field, employees could request UTO a maximum of one time per week.
Count Same-Day Occurrences as One: Check this box if want to count UTO requests for multiple shifts on the same day as one UTO request, for the purposes of calculating Max Occurrences in Window rule (above). For example, say you set the previous two rules so that employees can request UTO a maximum of once per week, and you check this box. Eliza is scheduled for two half shifts that she received in trades from co-workers on Friday. She realizes she needs that day off and requests UTO on both of the half shifts. If this box is checked, she can do so, because the two shifts occur on the same day and would count as one UTO request. If this box is not checked she could only request UTO on one of the shifts.
Can Request Partial Shift: Check this box to allow employees to request UTO on parts of shifts.
Employee Can Request Unscheduled Time Off: Check this box to allow employees to request unscheduled time off on a day. This feature only applies to work forces using Schedule Builder for scheduling and is not compatible with work forces that schedule with bid packages.
Supervisor Can Request Unscheduled Time Off For Employee: Check this box to allow supervisors to request unscheduled time off on behalf of employees. This feature only applies to work forces using Schedule Builder, and not to those work forces using bid packages for scheduling.
Min Hours Before Unscheduled Time Off Request: The minimum amount of time (in hours) before a time period begins that an employee can request unscheduled time off for that time period. This feature only applies to work forces using Schedule Builder, and not to those work forces using bid packages for scheduling.
Max Hours Before Unscheduled Time Off Request: The maximum amount of time (in hours) before a time period begins that an employee could request unscheduled time off for that time period. This feature applies to work forces using Schedule Builder, and not to those work forces using bid packages for scheduling.
Supervisor Can Override Rules: Check this box to allow supervisors to override the rules of this rule set.
Allow Employee to View Description: Check this box to allow employees to view the description of this rule set, which you can enter in the field below. If you do not check this box you can still enter information in the Rule Set Description for your own purposes, but it will not be visible to employees.
Rule Set Description: Enter a description and any notes about the rule set in this field, if you would like.
