Future Assignments allows users to schedule a single employee or multiple employees to be automatically added to a roster at a future date and time, for a defined period.
Note: When an employee's future assignment begins, the employee will not be removed from any roster assignments.
To Create a Future Assignment

Click the Roster List Ordering button on the List Mnt tab.

Click the maint link next to the roster the employee will be added to. The Roster List Maintenance screen for the selected roster displays. If any Future Assignments currently exist, they are displayed in a table at the bottom of the page.

Click the Future (Scheduled) Assignments button. The Future Assignments page displays.

Click the Add Assignment button. The list of employees in the current Level 4 location displays.

Check the checkbox next to the employee or employees you want to assign to the Future Assignment. - OR -
Click the Loc Selector button to pick employees from another location.
Note: If you use the AddAfterPtr roster preference and are adding 2 or more people to a roster at the same time, click here for more information .

Click the Proceed button. The selected employee and Future Assignment details display.

Use the calendar icons to make the necessary adjustments to the Assignment Start and End dates and times.
Note: The assignment start date defaults to the current date and the default assignment end date is two weeks in the future.

Enter a Sort Pref, if desired. If a Sort Pref is specified, the employee(s) will be added into the list based on his sort preference.
Note: If no one else on the list has a sort preference when the Future Assignment is in effect, the employee will be the first employee on the list.
Note: If assigning multiple employees at the same time, the same Sort Pref will be used for all members of the assignment.

Click the Sort List? checkbox, if desired. If Sort List? is checked, the list is sorted at the time the employee is added to the roster based on roster sort options.

Click Save Assignment. Your selection displays in a table of Future Assignments.
Note: When a Future Assignment is created and Cascade is not checked on the Roster Admin page, any Future Assignment that overlaps resequence times will be removed from the new list and a new Future Assignment will need to be created to re-add those employees for the new list. If you do not use Cascade, another solution would be to temporarily check the Cascade box and then delete any unneeded employees from the list before creating the Future Assignment. Best practice is when using the Resequence option with Future Assignments, the Cascade checkbox should be checked.
