Employees can be placed on Schedule Exception any time they are not working, using the Schedule Exception screen. The exception can start immediately or can be set for some time in the future. For example, if an employee's vacation schedule is known several months in advance, it can be entered into ARCOS immediately instead of waiting until the vacation begins.
When shifts that span days are created in ARCOS, they are flagged with either "P" to indicate that the shift started the previous day or "N" to indicate that the shift ends on the next day. For shifts that span days, the entry in the Today's Shift column of the Schedule Exception page indicates either "P" or "N" to make it clear which part of the indicated shift hours will be worked today.
It is generally assumed in ARCOS that employees do not work Holidays, if an employee has a shift scheduled for a holiday, the shift record is masked by the holiday. On the Schedule Exception page, the Today's Shift column displays "Holiday" if the employee is NOT working (their shift is masked) and displays the working time if the employee is working on the holiday.
If your company uses the Vacation Management module, please follow the instructions in Scheduling Vacation or Personal Holidays in the Vacation Management module because your Schedule Exception page contains slightly different options.
