Not all companies use this feature. Location Access provides security functionality in addition to Security Groups that allows you to permit access data within a designated location and to block access to data in other locations. For example, the Security Group called Supervisors all have access to the data in the entire company. However, establishing Location Access for ONE supervisor in the Supervisor Security Group limits only that supervisor's access to data in the specified location. It allows you to see certain information within the four-level hierarchy in ARCOS. Generally speaking, the four levels are:
-
Parent Company (usually only one) (Level 1)
-
Business Unit (Level 2)
-
Division (Level 3)
-
Op Center (Level 4)
Location level tags are customizable and can be tailored for each company. Location access can be restricted to allow only users within a specific Location Access Group to navigate between locations. A Location Access Group defines the set of locations to which your users can navigate, assuming they have access to the Location Selector page. See Creating a New Location Access Group for more information.
From the Location Access Group Admin page, you can view , modify, or delete location access groups, check the number of employees in a group, link to a list of employees in the group , or create a new location access group. If the group name is highlighted, this indicates the group is an Admin-level group.
