ARCOS consists of several modules, all tightly integrated one with the other. The Callout module gathers information from several other modules in order to create and launch a callout. It assembles all of the required information about an employee from the Employee module, the roster lists with which employees are associated from the List Maintenance module, and availability status information about an employee from the Schedule Module. Next, ARCOS launches the callout and begins making phone calls to employees, interacting with them using the Outbound Voice Response Unit (VRU) system. ARCOS then directs employees to call into the system and interacts with those employees using the Inbound VRU System.
Finally, when the callout is complete, the ARCOS Reports module contains both generic and custom reports that can be run and exported as CSV files for use in other applications, such as spreadsheets.
Comma-Separated Values File
Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file. CSV files are supported by most all spreadsheet and database management systems. You can export a CSV file from ARCOS reports and import that file directly into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Access database.
You do not need Java installed on your computer to use the Export procedure. However, if you do not have Java and try to export a report that exceeds 50Kb, you will receive a pop-up warning you that the data will not be compressed and could, therefore, take longer to download.
There are several reports that focus on resource availability, allowing companies to quickly see what resources are available in the event of an emergency or other situation that requires a quick manpower estimate. There is also a callout detail report that allows a company to see events by location, for a specific time period or by individual callout.
The table below defines the tabs found in ARCOS. Each tab contains buttons that vary based on your system, as different companies have different configurations and features of ARCOS.
Module Name |
Definition |
A cloud-based, mobile incident management solution that automates the planning, staffing, management and routing of required communications of emergency response teams. |
Allows operators to create, view, change, or manually respond to callouts, and to create custom messages for callouts. |
Stands for System for Incident Response and Emergency Notification (SIREN). Provides support for incident response team notification, acknowledgement of message delivery, the ability to create and view notifications, and the ability to create custom messages that accompany the notification. |
SIREN Mass Calling is an add-on for ARCOS that allows notifications to hundreds or even thousands of contacts that are not in your current ARCOS Suite, by allowing you to upload a new list of contacts with every notification. |
Leverages a company’s existing ARCOS data and allows supervisors to manage their crews in an easy, visual way during blue sky and storm operations. |
Fully automates the resource request & response workflow between Requesters and Responding Partners. |
A device-agnostic map and location based mobile application and secure cloud-based management control center. |
A vehicle or mobile device tracking and management system. |
Allows operators to navigate between business units. ARCOS uses a 4-tier location hierarchy that is discussed in further detail in the Location section. |
Contains data that defines employees. Provides the ability to add new employees as well as to update and manage data such as phone numbers, job classifications, and seniority date for existing employees, change security settings, reset passwords, and create manual charges. |
Provides several weekly and daily views of employee shifts, working statuses, and schedule exceptions. ARCOS uses the information from the Schedule module to determine if employees are available for callout. |
Enables the administration of rosters. Also allows adding, updating, and maintaining employees within each roster, and allows manual adjustment of callout responses and overtime hours. |
Allows operators to create, display, and print reports from the ARCOS database. Reports can either be printed to hard copy or exported as comma separated values (CSV) files that can be imported into Microsoft Excel or Access for additional manipulation.
This Advanced module leverages a company’s existing ARCOS data and allows users to generate and save custom views, reports and dashboards of data. |
Provides access to view changes made to employee statuses and records. |
Provides shift management, including the ability to add, maintain, and delete shifts that are assigned to employees so that ARCOS knows when employees are working. Shifts in ARCOS are defined as a collection of working times over a span of 7 days. |
Enables the administration of the ARCOS system, including security, location access, banner messages, pager setup, holidays, vehicle types, and crew creation. |
Provides a central location to keep a list of company contact numbers accessible to ARCOS users. Store local emergency numbers such as fire and police or other contacts such as tree contractors, city water & sewer crews, etc. |
