The Closest-to-Trouble with Truck in Garage functionality is not used by all companies who use Closest-to-Trouble. This functionality is used to add additional miles to an employee's travel distance for a Closest-to-Trouble callout.
For example, some employees may take the company truck home when they leave work while others leave it on company grounds. In this scenario the calculated distance to the trouble location is skewed for the employees who have to drive to the service center prior to reporting to the trouble location, because they really have extra driving distance before they reach the trouble location.
Note: When using the calculated drive time setting on the callout create page, the drive time for additional miles is calculated with 45 mile per hour as the driving speed.
To Set Additional Travel Miles for an Employee
-
Go to the Employee tab and click the Modify. A list of active and inactive employees in your current location displays.
-
Select the desired employee from the list. The Employee Modify page displays.
-
Enter the location of the company truck as the employee's home address. See Setting an Employee's Home Address.
-
Enter the number of miles from the employee's actual home address to the location of the company truck in the Addl Travel Miles textbox.
Note: The Addl Travel Miles textbox allows up to 10 characters with one character being a decimal point and all other characters being numeric.
-
Click the Save Data button.
Note: ARCOS will automatically add the number of miles entered in the Add Travel Miles field on the employee's record when a Closest-to-Trouble callout is created.
